BBC reports that Scientists in the UK are working to discover a coronavirus vaccine and they hope to begin clinical trials by the end of next week.
Sarah Gilbert, a professor at Oxford University, said no one has been immunized so far, but her team has been given permission to begin recruiting volunteers.
She hopes clinical trials will begin in the coming days.
"We are waiting for the final security tests to be done and for the final approval to be given," she told the BBC.
Gilbert added that researchers need support from the UK government to speed up vaccine production.
The UK has 115,314 infected with the new coronavirus and 15,498 dead.
